Course outcomes

The objective of achieving Liquor Licensing Knowledge training is to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of liquor licensing regulations and requirements. The training aims to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of liquor licensing laws, ensuring compliance and responsible management of licensed premises.

The following skills and knowledge will be assessed as part of this training:

  • To enforce and mandate optimal procedures among licensees in achieving the objectives of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (referred to as “the Act”):
  • To encourage just and impartial trading practices among participants in the industry, in line with the Fair Trading Act 1999 and the Small Business Commissioner Act 2003.
  • To discourage actions that violate the Fair Trading Act 1999 and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
  • To clearly define the rights and responsibilities of all involved parties.

The stipulations within this Code will be applicable to all licenses for the sale of packaged liquor. The definition of a packaged liquor license is provided in the Code.

The provisions outlined in this Code will also extend to a general license through which a licensee predominantly supplies packaged liquor as a fundamental aspect of their regular liquor supply business, which is subject to a condition as outlined in clause 26(2)(a) of Schedule 3 within the Act.

Assessment:

All participants are required to complete two assessment and must be deemed competent by the college to qualify for the certificate.

Upon the successful completion of the Liquor licence training and assessment, a hard copy of the certificate will be posted to your postal address. You may request to have an emailed scanned copy of the certificate prior to the original being posted.
